What Invictus Parents Say

100% of Invictus parents recommend the school to other families. Below are the highlights of our school community and what makes us special.

Respect and Follow-Through

Invictus is a cornerstone in our Richmond community. As an active and beneficial part of the community, we insist on treating everyone who walks through our doors with respect. 100% of parents feel that there is someone at school who can help their student with a personal or academic challenge. This commitment to our students shines through with 99% of Invictus parents reporting they are satisfied with the response they get when contacting the school with questions or concerns.

Highest Level of Academics

Ensuring that our classes are safe, under control, and allow for the highest level of academics at each grade level is foundational to how we function. Our leadership teams spend ample time building and following through with systems that maintain this foundation, and partner with parents in sustaining this culture and climate. At Invictus, we believe that we are all lifelong learners, regardless of age. We model accountability, respect, and follow-through as a method of teaching these characteristics to our students.

Weekly Communication

In order to ensure our Invictus parents stay informed, we have designed systems which keep us in close contact. Every week we create reports with grades and behavior data and require students to bring them home and have them signed, so parents get a snapshot of their child’s week, every week. We make sure to make positive phone calls home to share updates and “wins” with the families of our students. We receive continuous feedback that this communication is unique to Invictus and exceeds expectations for most parents.

Parent Conferences

Each semester we hold parent conferences to share a full swath of data with our students’ families. Student data includes testing results, behavior reports, grades, attendance and any other information specific to each student’s journey, including teachers’ feedback. During the conferences, each student’s advisor spends time answering questions and walking parents through the data which helps paint a complete picture of their student. The data showcases where their student is excelling, goals that have been met and areas that need improvement.

Providing our parents with this informative data in a conversational setting and being available to answer questions or address concerns is a central part of how we view our school as part of the community. We are in this together. This type of connection and support, often different and welcome for some of our new families, is how we are transforming education and preparing 100% of students to thrive in the colleges of their choice, solve relevant problems, and communicate with confidence.

Safe Classrooms

At Invictus Academy of Richmond, we match high expectations with strong relationships and rigorous curriculum. This formula has yielded exceptional results in our school and our community as revealed by our parent survey data from 2020-2021. 100% of Invictus parents believe that classes are safe and under control. Parents are aware of their child’s progress and challenges before report cards are sent home. 100% of parents report that adults at Invictus make them feel welcome while simultaneously creating expectations for their students to be successful.

We regularly survey the parents of our students to make sure that no parent -- and no student -- falls through the cracks.
