Student Testing Reports 76% Growth
Through the nationally normed NWEA Map exam and the BES (Building Excellent Schools) Fellowship, data shows Invictus students excelling across the board. Additionally, students from sub-groups who traditionally go underserved are performing as well as -- and in some cases better than -- our general student population.
Invictus 2020-2021 results show 76% of Invictus students improved their Math skills and 72% improved in Reading. This earned Invictus the rank of 1st out of 65 schools in Reading and 3rd in Math amongst BES schools reporting data.
We administer the NWEA Map exam at Invictus in the fall, winter, & spring each year. This helps us to diagnose students at the start of the school year in reading and math, as well as at the midpoint and track again at the end of the year. Automatically generated objective growth goals are set for each student based on their individual journey.

The high ranking results that Invictus students achieve are derived from several factors. First and foremost, our teachers and staff form deep relationships with their students and support each individual on all levels. We set high expectations and teach students how to meet their goals.
Many of the teachers and staff at Invictus grew up in the Richmond area and can relate to their students' experience both inside and outside of school. They look like our students or they may have a shared life experience as some of the students, both of which build a better foundation for relationships.
